WJEC A level Sociology past papers

This page links every Sociology paper WJEC publishes for everyone to download, newest first, starting with June 2025. Each link opens the PDF on WJEC's own website. The most recent series is usually released a year or so after the exam, and it will appear here once WJEC makes it public.

Yes, 8 of the 9 question papers here have a mark scheme, and 8 have an examiner report as well, which is worth reading for the mistakes that cost the most marks.

In June 2026, an A needed 400 out of 500 uniform marks and an E needed 200 on Sociology. On AS, an A needed 160 out of 200 uniform marks and an E needed 80. The grade boundaries for every series from June 2019 to June 2026 are on this course's grade boundaries page, and each series of papers here links to its own year's table, so you can mark a paper and read your grade.

It is linked at the top of this page: WJEC's own Sociology specification (1200), a PDF on its website, which sets out what you can be examined on and how the exams are marked.

cookie's practice decks can make fresh exam-style questions from a specification or your own notes, with feedback and spaced repetition, so you can keep practising once the papers run out.

Cookie Tutoring may have tutors for Sociology. The Find a tutor link keeps the subject and qualification filters from this page, so you can check the marketplace without assuming that a suitable tutor is available.
