Free past papers, mark schemes and grade boundaries

Free GCSE, A level, Scottish, IGCSE and admissions-test past papers, with mark schemes and examiner reports where the board publishes them. Every link opens straight from the board's own website, so you can search by board, subject or specification code without clicking through three pages of its site first. Each course has its grade boundaries too, in our own tables for every year the board publishes, so you can mark a paper and read your grade, and a link to its specification.

You can do a board’s paper in cookie with a timer, mark it against the mark scheme and keep your score, so you can see how your grades move over time, and a past papers revision plan spreads your papers out before each exam. With an account you can have it marked with AI, and ask the assistant about a question as you go. All of it is optional; the papers work the same without it.

Grade boundaries

The marks needed for each grade, by course and year, overall and paper by paper, from the boards' own figures. Every course below has its grade boundaries with its papers, and the grade boundaries page has its own search, so you can find a course's boundaries by board, subject or code.

Common questions

Where do these past papers come from?

Every paper, mark scheme and examiner report here is a link to the copy the exam board publishes on its own website, so you always get the official file and we never host a copy of it. The newest series is usually held back by the boards for a year or so, which is why it is not listed yet.

Do you have grade boundaries for these papers?

Yes, for every course whose board publishes them. Each course page shows its newest grade boundaries and links each series of papers to its own year’s table, overall and paper by paper, copied from the board’s own figures. The grade boundaries page lists them by board.

Where are the specifications?

Each course page links the board’s own specification at the top, with its code, and the specifications page lists every one we link, searchable by board, subject or code. We link to the board’s current PDF rather than keep a copy.

Are the past papers free?

Yes. The boards publish these for students to practise with, and linking to them costs you nothing and needs no account. You only need a cookie account if you want the practice decks.

Can I do a past paper in cookie?

Yes, if you want to. "Do it in cookie" opens the board’s question paper; download it and choose the file in cookie, and you can time yourself, mark it against the mark scheme and keep your score in My papers, which shows how your grades move over time. The file stays on your device. With an account you can have it marked with AI, and ask the assistant about a question as you go.

What do I do once I have done all the past papers?

Try a practice deck for fresh exam-style questions from a specification or your own notes, or look for a tutor if you want help with the subject. A deck or a suitable tutor may not be available for every course.
