Import your Quizlet sets

Paste a set you've exported from Quizlet and you can flip through it here straight away, then save it to cookie, where each card comes back just before you would forget it. Nothing you paste leaves your browser until you save it.

First, on Quizlet

  1. Open your set on quizlet.com and choose the ⋯ button, then Export.
  2. Leave Tab and New line as they are, and choose Copy text.
  3. Paste it in the box below.

What doesn't come across

Quizlet's export is words only, so pictures, diagrams and sound stay behind, and so does what you've studied and starred: your cards start as new cards. Sets you copied from someone else can't be exported at all, because Quizlet only lets the person who made a set export it.

What cookie does with them

cookie schedules each card to come back just before you would forget it, and every card you get right or wrong counts towards how well you know its topic, alongside the exam questions you answer. It can write a mnemonic for any card that won't stick, and when you want your cards back on Quizlet, every deck has Copy for Quizlet.

Common questions

How do I export a Quizlet set?

Open the set on quizlet.com in a browser (the app has no export), choose the ⋯ button beside the set’s name and then Export. Leave Tab between term and definition and New line between rows, choose Copy text, and paste it here.

Can I export a Quizlet set I didn't make?

No. Quizlet only lets the person who made a set export it, so a set you copied or saved from someone else has no Export. You can still make the cards again yourself in cookie, by hand or from your notes.

Why are my pictures missing?

Quizlet's export is the words only: pictures, diagrams and sound stay on Quizlet. Once the cards are in cookie you can add pictures to any of them.

Does it keep my progress?

No. Quizlet's export doesn't include what you've studied or starred, so every card starts as a new card in cookie, and cookie then learns what you know from how you answer.

Do I need an account?

Not to paste a set, flip through it or study it here, which all happens in this browser. To keep the cards on every device, counted towards each topic you study, you need a cookie account, and the set waits for you while you sign up.

Can I move my cards back to Quizlet later?

Yes. Every deck in cookie has Copy for Quizlet, which gives you text that Quizlet’s Import takes, so your cards are never stuck here.
