A-Level practice questions, written and marked by AI

cookie generates A-Level practice questions from material you choose, marks your written answer against a mark scheme with partial credit, and uses spaced repetition to bring each topic back just before you would forget it. It is built for the long multi-part questions A-Level papers actually ask rather than for recall of single facts.

Where A-Level revision usually goes wrong

There are rarely enough past papers to go round, and the ones that exist get used up early in the year. What is left is either re-doing a paper you remember or reading notes, and reading is the weakest way to find out whether you could write the answer under time pressure.

cookie answers that by generating the next question rather than handing you a fixed set, and by marking what you wrote instead of showing you the answer to compare against yourself. A mark you disagree with can be challenged on the answer, and the AI reconsiders it with your reasoning in front of it.

Working written out, not multiple choice

You answer by typing, and LaTeX works if you need it, or by photographing the working you did on paper, or by drawing on the built-in whiteboard. The marking reads all three, which matters at A-Level because most of the marks are for the method rather than the final line.

Every answer gets a worked solution afterwards, so you can see where the marks were and what a full answer would have looked like.

Common questions

Can it mark a long question with several parts?

Yes, and each part is marked independently against the criteria that belong to it, which is how a real mark scheme works. You get a mark per part, a total, and a worked solution for the whole question.

Will it tell me my predicted grade?

It can, once you enter the grade boundaries for your board and paper, because a percentage means nothing without them. The estimate is built on AI marks, so treat it as a guide rather than a prediction of your real result.

Can I use my own past papers?

Use your own notes freely. Exam boards do not allow their past papers, mark schemes or specifications to be uploaded, so the official decks we built from published material are there for that instead.

Would you rather have a person as well?

We run our own tutoring service alongside this. Lessons are live and one-to-one over video and a shared whiteboard, the first 15 minutes with anybody is free, and every tutor and student gets cookie at no extra cost.
