Common questions

When do A level exams start and finish in 2027?

The first and last dates for every paper are in the timetable on this page, from OCR's published timetable. Schools set their own dates for mocks and for any coursework deadlines, so ask the school for those.

What happens if two exams are at the same time?

The school’s exams officer sorts it out. Under JCQ’s rules a clash is usually handled by sitting one paper straight after the other, under supervision, so nothing needs doing at home except telling the school early if the clash is not already known.

What if my child is ill on the day of an exam?

Tell the school as soon as possible. If a student misses a paper for a good reason and has sat enough of the rest, the school can apply to the board for special consideration; it is not automatic, and the school needs evidence such as a doctor’s note.

How do I add the exams to my phone’s calendar?

Tick the subjects in the timetable maker above, choose a tier if there is one, then press "Add to calendar". It downloads a calendar file that Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Outlook can open, with one all-day event per paper.

Also: turn a mock mark into a grade, extra time and access arrangements, and GCSE timetables, IGCSE timetables and International A level timetables.
