WJEC GCSE English Literature set texts 2027

The texts students choose from for WJEC GCSE English Literature exams in 2027, paper by paper, read from the board's specification. The school picks which ones its students study, so ask the English department which your child has.

WJEC GCSE English Literature (3720), Wales only (3720) had its last full exams in 2026. For centres in Wales only. WJEC's qualification page (checked 2026-09-26) says summer 2026 was the final full assessment, with a January 2027 resit subject to demand, and that learners now take GCSE English Language and Literature. The spec names authors by surname only. Unit 2 is taken as Unit 2a or 2b. Unit 3 is non-exam assessment on a Shakespeare play of the centre's choice and 15 poems from the anthology below.
