Flashcards for the NSW HSC Physics course, covering the Year 12 modules examined in the Higher School Certificate: Advanced Mechanics, Electromagnetism, The Nature of Light, and From the Universe to the Atom, following the Physics Stage 6 Syllabus (2017), which stays current for the 2027 HSC. Cards are split by module and then by the syllabus's inquiry questions and content headings. Equation cards say whether the equation is on the formulae sheet or must be recalled.

Adding it gives you your own copy, with every subdeck below. Each card then comes back just before you would forget it, and every one you get right or wrong counts towards your mastery of its topic. You can delete or suspend the parts you are not studying once it is yours.

Some of its cards

  • A region in which a charged object experiences a force due to another charge
    Electric field
  • What is the basic structure of a simple DC motor?
    A rectangular current-carrying coil, free to rotate, in a magnetic field, connected to the circuit through a split-ring commutator and brushes
  • What equation gives the gravitational force FF between two masses MM and mm separated by a distance rr?
    F=GMmr2F = \dfrac{GMm}{r^{2}}
  • Uniform circular motion
    Motion at constant speed along a circular path
  • What theory describes the origin of the Universe from an extremely hot, dense initial state?
    The Big Bang theory
  • What equation defines the magnetic flux Φ\Phi through an area AA, for a field BB at angle θ\theta to the area's normal?
    Φ=B∥A=BAcos⁡θ\Phi = B_{\parallel}A = BA\cos\theta
  • Motor effect
    The force produced on a current-carrying conductor placed in a magnetic field
  • What evidence suggested that protons and neutrons are not themselves fundamental particles?
    High-energy scattering experiments showed protons and neutrons have internal structure, made of smaller particles
  • What are cathode rays?
    Streams of electrons emitted from the negative electrode (cathode) inside an evacuated tube
  • What problem did classical physics predict for Rutherford's nuclear model, given that electrons orbit the nucleus?
    An orbiting, accelerating electron should continuously radiate electromagnetic energy, causing it to spiral into the nucleus almost instantly, which does not happen

And 663 more once you add the deck.
