cookie and RemNote compared

RemNote is a note-taking app with flashcards, PDFs and AI study tools in one place, and an exam scheduler that fits your reviews to an exam date. cookie is a revision app for exams such as GCSEs and A-levels: it writes exam-style questions from your notes, marks your written answers against a mark scheme and keeps a score for each topic, with flashcards, notes, past papers and a revision plan beside them. Both can take in your Anki decks.

What each one is for

cookie is a revision app for exams such as GCSEs and A-levels that learns your level in each topic. It writes exam-style questions from your own notes and marks your answers the way an examiner would, and it has flashcards, past papers, notes and a revision plan in the same place. Every marked answer and flashcard rating adds to a score for its topic, and those scores decide what comes back and when.

RemNote describes itself as an AI note-taking tool that helps you learn: notes, flashcards, PDFs and AI study tools in one app. Its AI can make flashcards from your notes, PDFs or lecture transcripts, and its AI Tutor answers questions, quizzes you and builds flashcards and study guides from your content. Each row is something both apps do, and the RemNote column says it the way RemNote’s own pages do. A row is here only if RemNote’s own pages say it, so something missing from this table may still be in RemNote: check its pages.

Common questions

Can cookie make flashcards from my notes?

Yes. Notes in cookie are pages with maths, pictures and drawings, and any note can be made into flashcards or a question deck, written by the AI. You can also write cards yourself, and they are scheduled with FSRS.

Does cookie plan around my exam dates?

Yes. The revision plan counts back from your exam dates and gives more time to sooner exams and weaker subjects, and you can make it yourself or with AI.

What does cookie do besides flashcards?

It writes multi-part, exam-style questions from your own notes and marks what you write against a mark scheme, with partial credit and a worked solution, and you can do past papers in it with a timer. Your marks and card ratings add to a score for each topic, which decides what comes back and gives weaker topics more time in your revision plan.

How much does cookie cost?

Without Pro, an account has a daily and a monthly allowance of credits for what the AI does, such as writing and marking questions, and Pro gives you more for a monthly or yearly price. Studying flashcards, marking a past paper yourself and making a revision plan without the AI use no credits. The prices are on the plans and pricing page.

Is cookie connected to RemNote?

No. cookie is a separate app, not made by or connected to RemNote, and this page was written by cookie. Each row of the table links to the RemNote page it was read from and the day it was checked, and features and prices change, so check there before you choose.
